Blackjack Live Dealers

There are two types of live dealer blackjack available on the internet these days. Most widely known is the personal dealer game in which the dealer and the player are the only persons in the game. The other type of live dealer, the public dealer, plays against many players at once.

The Personal Dealer

Online blackjack games that feature a personal dealer are designed to mimic games that take place in land-based casinos around the world. The personal dealer places house bets against a single player in an attempt to collect their money. In some cases, the personal dealer may actually be required to host a table of up to six participants, though this is very rare. The rules of the game are set by the house, though nothing changes simply because of the addition of the live dealer.

The Public Dealer

In online settings, there are so many blackjack players in a room at any given time that it is almost impossible to employ enough dealers to meet demand. As such, public dealers will play against dozens of people at the same time, often without the players knowing. To do this, the dealer will play three or more hands at once, though one group of players is only able to see one of the dealer's hands. This way, everyone can enjoy the realism of the live dealer.

Combination Dealers

In a few online venues, players are able to choose between a personal dealer and a public dealer or perhaps even enjoy a combination of the two. For instance, players who enjoy low-limit tables may only have access to public dealers, whereas those who are high-rollers are more likely to find themselves playing against a personal dealer.

Regardless of whether a live dealer is of the personal nature or designed to play against the public in general, they add a sense of realism to the game that could not be otherwise achieved.
